About this role:
This position is focused on managing existing customers and acquiring new relationships that consist of the largest and most complex governmental entities to include cities, counties, public school systems, essential public service districts and large public transportation. Successful Lead Commercial Relationship Managers have demonstrated the ability to build trust and establish credibility by delivering compelling communications, offering thought leadership, possessing strong product knowledge, and always demanding flawless deal execution and superior customer service. This position will contain an emphasis on business development requiring a consistent calling effort on the leadership teams of a focused list of prospective clients. Developing a strategic plan to grow market share while managing the reputation of the bank with key community leaders is a required skill for this position.
In this role, you will:
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and coordinate all services and products for your customers
  • Ensure overall portfolio growth by focusing on the needs of the customers and understanding their business, goals and strategies
  • Participate in the completion of major transactions while working with many partners such as legal, compliance, and operations
  • Originate, structure and execute transactions related to treasury management and credit opportunities
  • Travel within and outside of Texas to meet clients and attend industry conferences and networking events
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
  • Make decisions and resolve issues to meet business objectives
  • Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead the relationship management team to achieve sales and service objectives
  • Partner with Wells Fargo subject matter experts to fully understand the customers' business, goals, strategies and challenges
Required Qualifications:
  • 5 years of Commercial Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience working with government clients and understanding their procurement process
  • Knowledge of municipal credit structures
  • Proficient with treasury management products
  • High ability to collaborate with product partners and leverage Wells Fargo subject matter experts
  • Networked in the large government sector in Texas
  • Demonstrated business development skills and a track record of growing market share
  • Strong communication skills and a comfort level with delivering formal presentations to clients or at industry conferences
  • Ability to influence others, both internally and externally, by delivering compelling communications based on data and expertise
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
