About this role:
Application Security enhances the ability of the development organization to consistently deliver highly functional applications that are secure and resilient against attack. We develop policies, processes, controls and tools to proactively embed security into Wells Fargo-developed applications.
Wells Fargo is seeking an Information Security Senior Manager who will lead a team of Application Security Champions (ASCs) that support Wells Fargo's "non-CIO" development teams, which deliver centralized shared services to our lines of business. ASCs promote and enable the security awareness to protect the Bank's applications by conducting vulnerability and fix reviews and training developers in secure coding best practices.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the Application Security Champions program and foster a security culture across all lines of business.
- Focus on continuous improvement of the Application Security Champions program.
- Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities.
- Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders.
- Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans.
- Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of secure development practices.
- Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives.
- Develop strategies for hiring security engineering, operational and administrative talent.
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including executives.
- Lead the team to achieve objectives and key results.
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.
- Lead the team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues.
- Interpret and develop a range of policies and procedures for functions with high complexity and risk.
- Build and sustain a strong risk culture liaising with all lines of defense across the enterprise.
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in Application Security.
- Lead efforts to facilitate / manage projects, products, strategic plans and execute other operational aspects.
- Lead efforts to define / manage required business plans (i.e., draft proposals & plans) and support related initiatives across products – including analyzing & identifying opportunities for efficiencies. and innovation across internal processes and the tools to support.
- Support Application Security leadership in solving problems, managing disputes, and dealing with any issues impacting the Cybersecurity organization.
- Design and execute effective Application Security controls.
- Manage and develop a team of individual contributors and managers in roles with moderate complexity and risk
- Maintain a broad awareness of the state of information security company-wide
- Identify and recommend complex and innovative solutions addressing functions including vulnerability detection, threat data, network intrusion and development, and implementation of vulnerability mitigation strategies
- Identify security risks and solutions for networks and virtual private network applications, security tools, public key infrastructures, authentication and directory services, and access management services
- Identify, formulate, implement information security and Line of Business management
- Determine appropriate strategy for information security policy, standards and procedures for systems, applications and tools
- Set guidelines for compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Advise more experienced management on issues with high, critical impact
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Interface with Information Security Industry Leaders, Financial industry Leaders, Analysts and Regulators
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Information Security Analysis
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications, US:
- 6 years of Information Security Analysis experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3 years of Management experience
- 5 years of Application Security engineering management experience.
- 3 years of experience with Agile practices and frameworks such as SCRUM and KANBAN as well as Confluence and JIRA toolsets.
- 3 years of direct experience leading an Application Security Champions program or functioning as a lead Application Security Champion
Desired Qualifications:
- 5 years of advanced software engineering, planning, design, and requirements security experience.
- Experience transforming to and/or managing business and operational functions in a product model construct, which would include participation in product roadmap planning and feature/backlog prioritization.
- Strong knowledge of Application Security practices (security peer review, security requirements, secure design, threat modeling, SAST, DAST, SCA etc.)
- Expert at identifying, preventing, and remediating Application Security vulnerabilities (OWASP top 10, SANS 25 etc.).
- Strong knowledge, understanding and prior experience with regulatory drivers impacting a complex and dynamic global technology environment.
- MS or MBA degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- CISSP, CISM, CISA, CASE, CSSLP, GWEB certifications.
- Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud certifications.
- Practical experience building security solutions through abstraction layer and automation practices.
- Policy development experience.
- Experience with the development and execution of strategy in a large enterprise.
- Demonstrated competency in CI and CD DevSecOps automation deployment strategies.
- Experience creating visually dynamic presentations.
- Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and business audiences.
- Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior/executive management.
- Experience designing and implementing effective Application Security controls
Job Expectations:
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Ability to work onsite in the office in a hybrid model.
