About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Head of Housing, Real Estate, and Securitizations (Managing Director level) to join our Municipal Products Group (MPG).
The Municipal Products Group (MPG) within the Markets Division provides investment banking, municipal derivatives, investor solutions, institutional sales, secondary trading and underwriting services to issuer and investor clients.
In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
  • Manage the Real Estate Finance efforts within Public Finance Investment Banking which will include investment banking origination, securitization, bank direct purchase, and derivative marketing responsibilities.
  • Be integrally involved in structured finance solutions for investor clients seeking to obtain financing solutions for municipal securities, especially those with a real estate component.
  • Work collaboratively with various groups within the Municipal Products Group including Affordable Housing, Regional investment bankers, Investor Finance, Municipal Sales, Municipal Derivative Marketing and Trading.
  • Partner with relationship managers in CIB's Commercial Real Estate Division to offer holistic solutions to real estate developers and sponsors.
  • Provide thought leadership to the Municipal Products Group and its clients.
  • Build network of influence amount municipal market professional including, among others, bond lawyers, credit providers, financial advisors, financial sponsors, and key industry vendors (e.g. public accounting firms).
  • Build effective working relationships with business and support partners to ensure excellent execution and mitigate business risks. Critical partnerships include Legal, Compliance, Business Control, and Tax.
  • Represent MPG within the Company in support of specific municipal finance business.
  • Function as a player-coach; provide leadership to the team while maintaining individual client coverage and production responsibilities.
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 10 years of Investment Banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • 10 years' experience with a background that includes each of municipal finance, affordable housing, securitization, and real estate capital markets experience.
  • Consistent track record of revenue generation as an investment banker and significant depth and tenure of client relationships.
  • Acknowledged expert in their field.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement defined business objectives and execute business development strategy.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of real estate, affordable housing, and municipal finance sector.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Management and leadership skills
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Registration for FINRA Series 52, 79, 63, 53 and 24 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Base pay range for this position in New York is 400,000.00 - 400,000.00 USD
  • May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards
Pay Range
$207,900.00 - $431,900.00
