The Position
The CIB Strategy & Innovation team advise and support the CEO of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) and the CIB leadership team in the identification and development of business innovation and opportunities for Corporate & Investment Banking and develop and lead the implementation of strategic plans and drive the business transformation agenda for Wells Fargo CIB.
As a senior leader on the Strategy team, you will help to lead teams on fast-paced projects at the top of our senior management's agenda. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in crafting reporting and analysis related to key initiatives, help refine business strategy through polished storytelling,
and optimize performance across the franchise. Most projects are team-based and require meaningful collaboration with senior leaders and cross-functional business partners. Success on the Strategy team requires thinking commercially and being outcomes based, the ability to understand, create, and leverage data, and the successful development of actionable business plans and go-to-market strategies, for senior leaders to focus on the most optimal and actionable opportunities driving growth and efficiency.
In this role, you will:
  • Play a critical role managing deliverables for senior executives (CIB CEO, C suite individuals across Wells Fargo), liaising across strategy, COO, CFO and Chief of Staff roles; these deliverables require detailed understanding of the business and financials as well as strong writing skills; this also requires detailed and effective management across constituents on tight timelines.
  • Stay current on emerging trends and competitive dynamics to inform strategic direction of the business and clear articulation of the gaps.
  • Oversee and execute on a portfolio of strategy / data analytics projects which lead to business outcomes that drive progress on key goals.
  • Craft clear and compelling narratives by leveraging creative data visualization and story-telling to enable opportunity prioritization, recommendations, and broad consensus, which ultimately influences the strategic agenda.
  • Lead, coach and develop junior team members both formally and informally.
The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of Corporate & Investment Banking models and product/channel management, detailed knowledge, and ability to stay current on business initiatives and market trends, and ability to clearly and expertly, communicate analysis, strategic solutions and execution roadmaps to the business and enterprise at all levels. Must be able to provide oversight and guidance to ensure company objectives are achieved (i.e., growth, risk, client experience).
Critical success factors include effectively performing in a matrixed organization, develop partnerships across business and operational/functional areas, a deep knowledge of financial technology, and lead through influence. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement.
Required
  • 8 years of Strategy and Planning experience or equivalent demonstrated experience through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 4 years Management experience.
Desired
  • 8 years of increasing responsibility in senior leadership positions with strong business strategic planning experience for corporate & investment banking line of business.
  • Experience executing large research projects on complex topics with clear deliverables and recommendations.
  • Ability to structure and scope complex problems and apply a range of analytical tools to develop solutions.
  • Serve as a thought leader in topics that improve the overall franchise, including strategies to drive revenue, improve efficiency, create leverage and scale, and increase process and metrics that drive behavioral change.
  • Advanced level knowledge of the Investment Banking and Corporate Banking businesses
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills for executive presentations
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings, communicate ideas and results effectively, and drive consensus throughout the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment and act with urgency when supporting leadership requests.'
  • Ability to lead projects from inception to execution with minimal oversight.
Pay Range
$207,900.00 - $431,900.00
