How you make a difference :

As a Treatment Team Leader, you will assume a pivotal role in leading, overseeing, and delivering comprehensive sex offender and other treatment programs to individuals and groups as assigned. In this capacity, you will also serve as a dedicated clinical therapist for assigned residents, ensuring that your level of direct contact and frequency aligns with established performance standards, all while contributing to the rehabilitation and well-being of the individuals under your care.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Lead, oversee, and deliver sex offender and other treatment to assigned individuals and groups, adhering to established performance standards, and document service delivery and resident progress on a weekly basis.
  • Serve as a clinical therapist for assigned residents, including tasks such as developing and monitoring individualized treatment plans, coordinating treatment group referrals, and conducting regular resident meetings. Additionally, evaluate the clinical appropriateness of property and visitation requests.
  • Provide sex offender treatment groups and related sessions on a weekly basis, while also offering training and consultation to treatment and security staff on clinical methods and procedures for Sexually Violent Predators.
  • Administer tests and assessments within the scope of licensure, certification, and training, and actively participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and staff development activities.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Team Leader for weekly individual supervision, perform administrative duties, and demonstrate critical thinking skills, judgment, and attention to detail while working effectively under stress, as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements :

Education

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related human services field

Experience

  • Prior clinical experience working with sexual offenders and an understanding of the dynamics of sexual deviance strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with relevant research literature, clinical assessments, procedures and methods, particularly those designed for sexual offenders
  • Ability to assess treatment goals and write goal-directed, individualized treatment plans, as well as the ability to monitor and document individual behavior patterns and modify treatment plans to meet changing treatment goals
  • Ability to instruct others in the implementation of therapeutic and behavioral interventions and procedures
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with the diagnostic nomenclature outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport and maintain objectivity with a criminal or forensic population
  • Appreciation of the need for and ability to maintain appropriate personal boundaries in working with sexual offender populations
  • Investment in expanding current skills/knowledge and to the transfer of this knowledge to other staff
  • Ability to form and maintain good working relationships with a diverse staff and a commitment to enhancing cultural competency
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department

Licenses/Certifications

  • Must be licensed or license-eligible as a Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, or Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
