The Dispensary Associate is responsible for interacting with, educating, and advising patients either in person or over the phone, prepare consumer order requests, accurately processes point-of-sale transactions, and maintain accurate cash handling by conforming to Acreage’s cash handling policies. The Dispensary Associate will be required to be cross-trained in all other administrative functions. All point-of-sale transactions will be limited to adult-use sales and they will be prohibited from any medical sales, unless they hold specific licensing to do so.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Greet consumers in person or over the phone

Able to determine legality of age of consumer by efficiently checking valid forms of identification
Able to answer questions about Connecticut cannabis laws and the Company from members and others
Assists consumers in purchasing products on site or on the on-line website
Provide information regarding adult-use products, as well as accessories sold on site.
Assists the Assistant Dispensary Manager with cash management on a daily and weekly basis.
Assists with the administrative staff in legally checking both adult-use consumers and medical patients according to the most recent SOPs and Connecticut cannabis regulations.
Maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment inside and outside the facility.
Other duties that may be assigned by either the Assistant Dispensary Manager or the Dispensary Manager according to the business needs.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
2 years post-secondary education in a related field preferred
2 years’ experience in a fast-paced client-service intensive industry – hospitality and retail background preferred
Familiarity with history and varieties of cannabis preferred, but not required.
Outstanding phone and in-person customer service skills
Demonstrates proactiveness, flexibility, adaptability, and multi-tasking
Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical conduct
Skill in accurate cash management and inventory control
Strong written and oral interpersonal communication skills
Ability to effectively plan and prioritize
Posess attention to detail
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Absolute reliability and honesty

Computers and Technology

Proficiency using Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office programs including Gmail, Calendar Docs, Slides, Sheets, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
