The (new) Urgent Crisis Center (UCC) is a walk-in, police or ambulance psychiatric crisis stabilization program designed to triage, stabilize, and assess youth who are experiencing psychiatric crisis, and then link the youth/family to a lower level of care within the community. This is a fast-paced environment that operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
As part of an interdisciplinary team, the UCC clinician is providing mental health services to individuals experiencing emotional distress or behavioral problems, including those with chronic mental illness or substance abuse problems, assessing clients’ needs and ensuring they receive appropriate treatment, establishing a therapeutic relationship with the youth and family to help them identify problems, set goals, and develop plans to achieve those goals, documenting in medical records and providing crisis intervention services, including assessing risk of harm to self or others, and providing follow-up and discharge services
Annual Salary: $59K-$75K plus $5K sign-on/retention bonus
Schedule: Full time
Monday through Friday - we are hiring two Clinicians for each of our three shifts; first shift, 6am-2pm, second shift 2pm-10pm, and third shift; 10pm-6am.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have the ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of both agency and client matters. Must understand and be able to display the clinical knowledge and expertise necessary to perform crisis intervention.
Bilingual/bicultural skills preferred.
Cultural competency to serve a diverse population.
Strong diagnostic, assessment and treatment skills for individual, family and group therapy.
Extensive experience working with culturally diverse populations, a wide age range, and a variety of clinical presentations.
Knowledge of behavioral health, child welfare systems, and community resources.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A Master’s Degree in marriage and family therapy, social work or related human services field with at least a one year clinical internship working with children and/or adolescents or families is required. Two years’ post graduate clinical experience working with children, adolescents in outpatient is preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Must have a CT license as a mental health provider at the associate level to begin in this role; (ie: LMSW, LPCA, LMFTA); full CT licensure is preferred, (LCSW, LPC LMFT).
