Description

Summary

The Raw Material Warehouse Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless management of raw materials within the warehouse. This position is responsible for various aspects, including receiving incoming raw materials, conducting inventory counts, issuing materials to the production team, and accurately recording inventory data into the ERP system. The Raw Material Warehouse Specialist is integral to maintaining a consistent supply of raw materials for production while keeping accurate records for effective inventory management.

Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.

Major Function and Scope

Raw Material Receiving:

  • Receive incoming raw materials from suppliers, ensuring proper verification of quantity, quality, and conformity to specifications.
  • Collaborate with procurement and quality control teams to resolve any discrepancies or quality issues related to received materials.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of received materials into the inventory management system.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Conduct regular inventory counts to validate the accuracy of physical inventory levels against the records.
  • Maintain organized and efficient storage of raw materials, optimizing space utilization and accessibility.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment requests based on predetermined reorder points.

Material Issuance to Production:

  • Collaborate with production teams and ensure timely issuance of raw materials based on production team’s raw material requirements.
  • Prepare and verify materials for issuance, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Maintain a streamlined process for issuing materials to production, minimizing disruptions to operations.

ERP Data Entry:

  • Accurately input all inventory-related transactions, including receipts, issuances, transfers, and adjustments, into the ERP system.
  • Update the ERP system in real-time to reflect current inventory levels and movements.
  • Generate reports and analyze data from the ERP system to provide insights into inventory trends and availability.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate closely with procurement and production to ensure the availability of materials and adherence to production schedules.
  • Collaborate with quality control personnel to ensure that incoming raw materials meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Support quality audits and inspections by providing accurate inventory records and material traceability.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments to address any inventory-related issues or concerns promptly.

Requirements

Knowledge, Experience, and Competencies

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields are advantageous.
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and working with ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking, data entry, and recordkeeping.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Physical fitness to handle manual tasks, including lifting and moving heavy materials.
  • Problem-solving skills to address inventory-related challenges and discrepancies.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is occasionally exposed to wet, warm, humid, and cold temperatures.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds.
