Well Spring is Hiring a Life Engagement Coordinator Near Greensboro, NC
- Plan, organize and supervise planned and/or unplanned activities, including weekend and evening activities, as part of a program for individual and group activities based on resident needs.
- Assess and document residents’ abilities, functional status, activity level, possible activity barriers and problems, and past and current leisure interests and hobbies.
- Work closely with residents and their family members to provide the emotional and logistical support necessary to encourage resident participation in our regular activity programs.
- Accurately document resident progress in the electronic medical record. Keep track of resident activity attendance records.
- Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and care teams as part of resident care planning to meet residents’ daily recreation needs.
- Implement room visits and activities for those residents unable or unwilling to leave their room
- Sort and deliver resident mail – this can involve lifting some delivery boxes and parcels.
- Create an attractive, comprehensive residents’ activity calendar using our computer and software.
- Incorporate technology in resident activity programs as appropriate.
- Assist in the management of activity supplies and activity room/space utilization
- Supervise and direct activity volunteers as directed by supervisors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Community Programs and Events or their designee.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Recreation Therapy degree, NCBRTL/NCTRC certification preferred.
- Read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Possess a current NC Driver’s license. Driving record must comply with our insurance coverage needs. Motor Vehicle Record reviewed on an annual basis.
- Must be capable of driving Well-Spring vehicles and transporting residents on outings.
- This position requires some schedule flexibility to cover weekend and evening activities.
- Ability to make thoughtful and measured independent business decisions as necessary A strong working knowledge of computers and appropriate software applications.
- Capable of standing continuously for 1 hour minimum
- Capable of climbing/standing on stepstools and/or ladders to assist in seasonal decoration of the campus.
- Have the physical ability to transport residents to and from activities by wheelchair.
- Have the ability to work with pets and offer help with pet care on and off the unit as required.
- Have the ability to swim and hold breath under water.
- Complete and follow trainings related to pool safety and rescue procedures.
- Complete trainings and utilize life support and CPR procedures as needed.
