POSITION: High School Spirit/Cheer Coach (fall and winter season) - Fort Lupton High School.
Head Coach Job Description: The spirit coach’s purpose is to collaborate, support, and reinforce all expectations and standards put into place by the FLHS Athletic Department. This coach is required to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to the sport and team, and share their passion in a professional manner. This coaching position requires an individual who will adhere to all Spirit and CHSAA regulations and also be willing to cooperate and support those in responsibility.
SALARY RANGE: Per the extra duty salary schedule (up to 12% or min of $5,513.48 for Tier 1 Head Coach per season).

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
Certified/Licensed Teacher preferred
Experience in coaching High School Spirit/Cheer Team - head or assistant coaching experience preferred
Personal experience in the activity to be coached preferred
Certificate(s), licenses(s) or other legal credential(s) required by CHSAA, the State Department of Education, and the District
Safety training in the activity
Successful experience in record keeping and inventory procedures
Strong human relations and communication skills
Must be able to supervise events where the spirit team performs
Philosophy which encourages individual growth and teamwork
Models sportsmanlike behavior at all times
Teaching positions may be available for fall 2024-2025; see Weld Re-8 School District website for current listings.
Expectations of an Spirit Coach consist of:
Expressing positive coaching methods
Maintaining poise and anger control and avoiding partiality or favoritism
Upholding Fort Lupton High School’s values and morale
Collaborating and supporting all team members and coaches
Willingness to compromise and maintain a flexible mindset
Encouraging positive behavior amongst all participants
Modeling professionalism, integrity, and character
Committing to work along the side of the those in responsibility
Being in attendance of games, practices, performances, etc.
Fall Athletics-Boys Soccer, Football, Volleyball
Winter Athletics-Boys Basketball, Boys Wrestling, Girls Basketball, Girls Wrestling
Being dedicated to the success and growth of the team
Spirit Coach’s Roles:
Contributes in the development of performance routines
Implement safety and other related programs protocols as needed
Upholding all CHSAA Spirit rules and regulations
Upholding all School District policies (GCOAB)
Assisting and cooperating with others in responsibility in all team decisions and processes
Communicating with team members and parents/guardians
Maintaining an organized team structure
Demonstrates daily practice plans and routines implemented
Monitoring academic eligibility for all participants
Participates as the lead coach at school functions when another coach is not present or available
Positively upholds participant accountability and expectations
Encourages appropriate sportsmanship and conduct
Encourages growth and development of each member individually and as a team
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATION: Open until filled.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Assignment starting with high school sports teams/CHSAA schedule in August, 2024. Prefer as soon as possible (Spring Tryouts, April 2024).
Direct deposit for payroll is a condition of employment.
All contracts/agreements for employment of personnel shall be subject to the approval of the Board of Education.
No smoking is allowed in any Weld County School District Re 8 buildings.
Selected applicant must comply with the District's Drug-Free Workplace policy.
