Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Shop Supervisor to join our team. The Shop Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our shop, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of the steel and aluminum industry.
Responsibilities:
-Able to weld components by prescribed methods required or as called out on customer's blueprints and specifications. Meeting quality requirements set forth by AWS D1.1 or greater.
-Operating press brake and plate shear at maximum machine efficiency, generating highest part quality and performing general machine predictive maintenance based on safety and best practices in the steel service industry.
- Manage and supervise shop personnel, including assigning tasks and providing guidance
- Review blueprints and job specifications with project managers to ensure timely completion of projects
- Review project plans, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accuracy
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations
-Assisting will call customers by loading their material in a professional manner. Assisting sales staff with warehouse and inventory questions and issues. Ability to work in a team environment treating co-employees and customers with respect, courtesy and tact.
-Maintenance duties that include constant monitoring of tools and equipment that ensure safe operation and minimal downtime
- Collaborate with suppliers to obtain necessary materials and equipment
- Implement and enforce quality control measures
- Assist in budgeting and cost estimation for projects
- Utilize software such as C.A.D. or other type programs
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Shop Supervisor or similar role in the metal service industry
- Strong knowledge of metal service center principles and practices
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and project plans
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of pipeline construction is a plus
