Weitsman Recycling is Hiring an Equipment Operator Near Albany, NY

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Equipment Operator to join our dynamic team. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery used in the recycling process. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Operation:
    • Operate a variety of heavy machinery, including but not limited to, loaders, excavators, forklifts, and material handlers.
    • Ensure the safe and efficient handling of materials during the recycling process.
    • Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Material Handling:
    • Move and load/unload materials within the recycling facility.
    • Sort and separate materials based on type and quality.
    • Collaborate with other team members to optimize material flow and processing.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Comply with environmental regulations and company policies related to recycling processes.
  • Quality Control:
    • Monitor the quality of materials being processed and report any deviations.
    • Assist in maintaining high-quality standards for recycled materials.
  • Communication:
    • Collaborate with supervisors, fellow equipment operators, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Equipment Operator in a recycling or similar industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of heavy machinery operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret and follow safety guidelines and environmental regulations.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform duties in a demanding work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in equipment operation.

Education and Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant certifications in heavy equipment operation.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work conditions and priorities.
