JOB TITLE: Assembly Technician

EMPLOYER: WEINERT Fiber Optics, Inc.

SUMMARY: The incumbent in this position assists in the process of assembling custom fiber optic devices. Regular working hours include Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Overtime pay is time and a half and is available when pre-approved by your manager. Paid time off, paid holidays, Medical/Dental, retirement options available.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs assembly of custom fiber optic devices.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Manually assemble fiber optics and other components
  • Ensure completed assembly and its components meet specified requirements
  • Prepare finished assembly for shipment – labelling, packaging, etc.
  • Continuous process improvement
  • Help maintain a safe work environment
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

ABILITIES AND REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Able to read and interpret schematics & assembly drawings
  • Excellent hand-eye co-ordination and manual dexterity
  • Able to bend and lift weight of up to 23 kg (50lbs)
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time (with neck bent forward)
  • Able to concentrate when performing tasks that require accuracy
  • Operation of desktop computer and peripherals
  • Self-motivated team player with strong problem-solving skills
  • Well organized and able to work within time constraints
  • Able to multi-task

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • No prior experience or training. On the job training with great growth potential.
  • Prefer not required:- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or fiber optics is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
