Position:
Production Planning and Control (PPC) Supervisor

Reports to: Industrial Engineering Manager

Position Overview

The PPC Supervisor is responsible for organizing, guiding, and supervising the scheduling and shipping departments and activities. The PPC Supervisor carries out analysis of resources as well as studies and projections with the goal of avoiding bottlenecks and guarantees the production process in accordance with quantity standards and quality.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the scheduling and shipping team members, providing guidance and support to ensure success.
  • Leadership of direct reports in meeting objectives and developing strategy and KPI
  • Coordinate and supervise changes on production schedule, establishing new delivery dates for the product.
  • Coordinate the adjustment of the machine load, maintaining the balance between planned and available.
  • Coordinate the development and update of production planning parameters.
  • Coordinate company bottlenecks in conjunction with production.
  • Supervise the production carried out daily, informing the sectors of the company.
  • Supervise the printing of manufacturing orders, lists of materials and production reports, checking quantities and other data on the parts to be produced.
  • Supervise the delivery of materials to the warehouse as well as the storage of materials and dispatch of finished products, aiming to achieve product delivery dates as well as established quantities.
  • Supervise the replacement of documents (drawings and specifications) and keep them available for production.
  • Monitor the purchase of special materials necessary for manufacturing the product, based Purchase Department report.
  • Monitor monthly production in pieces and hours, creating graphs and tables for the Company's production statistics.
  • Monitor the evolution of stocks and implement corrective actions if necessary, to meet pre-determined objectives.
  • Monitor the planning for and the release and recording of manufacturing parts and orders for WEG Bluffton and Toledo locations.
  • Oversee factory calendar and production plans (MPS) and order delivery schedules and scheduling
  • Propose and implement alternatives to make planning more flexible between areas, shifts, products, processes, equipment and/or subcontracting in order to eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Propose and implement optimization projects, aiming to rationalize activities, improve quality, reduce costs and time (lead time).
  • Make decisions together with your superior regarding increasing staffing levels, purchasing furniture, machines and equipment, preparing the annual schedule of activities and budget for the section, monitoring and taking measures corrections in order to remedy any deviations.
Experience and Skills:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field required. Equivalent experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred, but not required.
  • Proven experience working in production control, scheduling, material and inventory management required in a manufacturing requirement required.
  • Familiarity with production planning software and ERP systems required. Prior SAP Experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of office tools including; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities required.
