Weeks Medical Center - PROVIDER is Hiring a Cardiology Physician Assistant Near Lancaster, NH

Job Summary:

Seeking a cardiology physicianassistant (PA), 3 or 4 days per weekin conjunction with the cardiac care team, to provide comprehensive care to patients with cardiovascular conditions. Your role will involve variousclinical and administrative duties aimed at assisting in the diagnosis,treatment, and management of cardiac patients. This position requires a deepunderstanding of cardiology principles, excellent communication skills, and theability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

1. Patient Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review,physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests such aselectrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, and stress tests.
  • Assess and monitor cardiac symptoms, vital signs, and overall patientcondition.

2. Diagnosis and Treatment Planning:

  • Assist in diagnosing cardiac conditions, interpreting diagnostic results,and formulating treatment plans under the supervision of cardiologists.
  • Participate in developing and implementing individualized care plans forpatients with cardiovascular diseases.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies within the scope of practice and inaccordance with state regulations.

3. Procedural Assistance:

  • Assist cardiologists during non-invasive procedures.
  • Provide pre- and post-procedural care, including patient education andmonitoring.
  • Provides consults to Emergency Department and Hospitalist providers andtheir patients.

4. Patient Education and Counseling:

  • Educate patients and their families about cardiovascular diseases,treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence.
  • Offer counseling on risk factor modification, including diet, exercise,smoking cessation, and stress management.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcareprofessionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers toaddress concerns, provide updates, and facilitate informed decision-making.

6. Documentation and Recordkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patienthistories, progress notes, diagnostic reports, and treatment plans.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well asorganizational policies and protocols.

7. Quality Improvement and Research:

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patientoutcomes and streamline clinical processes.
  • Stay informed about current research, guidelines, and advancements in thefield of cardiology, and apply evidence-based practices in patient care.

Essential Qualifications: 

Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program and hold current state licensure and certification as a Physician Assistant. Minimum of 3 years experience in cardiology outpatient environment. Must be able to practice independently and collaboratively in fast-paced clinical environment. Strong clinical skills, including proficiency in conducting physicalexaminations, interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability toeffectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in thefield of cardiology.
