Job Description:

The Internal Communications Specialist will report to the VP of Human Resources and is responsible for executing the nationwide employee communications and engagement strategy, including critical transformation projects across the company. This person works with multiple teams, including our executive leadership team, human resources, operations, customer success, marketing, workplace services/IT, to lead and manage complex communications and change management efforts. The Internal Communications Specialist leads implementation of overall communications priorities and initiatives identified by the organization.

The base pay range for this role is listed below:

$100,000.00 - $115,000.00 USD

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic communications partner to various department leaders in support of key business goals.
  • Drafts content and messages for various communications channels (print, web, video, etc.) in support of regular internal communications and change management projects.
  • Monitors and updates the integrated communication project plans to ensure accuracy and tracking of completion.
  • Leads implementation of overall communications initiatives related to employee engagement, business expansion / start-up and change management.
  • Executes the communications strategy for nationwide transformation projects, considering types of stakeholders impacted, size of project, and communication channels available.
  • Works directly with functional leaders managing transformation projects to understand communication and employee engagement needs.
  • Creates a culture of collaboration and innovation; encourages team members and functional leads to see communications as critical to the success of any transformation project.
  • Partners with the Human Resources team to create, manage and monitor multi-faceted projects/campaigns that inform, engage and inspire employees around human resources priorities and support of key organizational goals.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Team, HR and Marketing staff on internal and change management communications efforts.
  • Coordinates internal communications programs initiated by Global Communications, including ongoing employee survey and feedback efforts.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact and issue resolution for regular employee communications, transformation communications and related project work.
  • Delivers presentations and facilitates organizational events, including quarterly corporate-wide meetings; prepares meeting materials and distribute through various communication channels.
  • Monitors and analyzes communications effectiveness and trends to help inform and improve future projects.
  • Leverage and improve existing internal communications processes and technologies.
  • 15% Domestic Travel, visiting field locations

Skills Required and Physical Demands:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in managing internal communications projects for employee engagement, with exposure to programs involving public relations or communications.
  • Experience with Project Management in cross functional environments.
  • Ability to set goals and a proven ability to achieve job performance metrics.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management/multi-tasking skills (comfortable in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, operating at both strategic and tactical levels).
  • Experience developing and managing change-management communications strategies.
  • Ability to master and effectively use various technology platforms.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while being sensitive to wide range of employee groups and interests.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Communications platforms, and social media.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or another related field; or equivalent years of relevant experience in managing projects or programs in public relations or communications
