Wedgwood Christian Services is Hiring a BCBA, Residential and School-Based Near Grand Rapids, MI

Design and oversee the implementation of behaviorally informed interventions and environmental modification based on needs of assigned caseload across residential and community settings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and oversee the implementation of intensive behavioral intervention programming for assignedclients.
    • Conduct initial and ongoing verbal, behavioral, language, and skills assessment as indicated.
    • Conduct functional assessments/analyses as indicated.
    • Develop treatment goals based on assessment information and family priorities.
    • Write protocols for skills acquisition and behavior reduction targets based on the best available evidence and clinical judgment.
    • Oversee the implementation of programming by direct care staff and program clinical.
    • Monitor client progress in treatment.
      • Develop, track and monitor data metrics for treatment progress.
      • Prepare Quarterly Progress Reports when required.
      • Meet with treatment team to review progress and update treatment plan and goals.
      • Implement ongoing changes to programming based on data.
  • Train, lead, and mentor staff.
    • Assist ongoing trainings with program leadership and other Wedgwood staff to provide behavioral intervention.
    • Ensure paperwork, data collection, billing, and related documentation requirements of program staff meet program quality and timeliness standards.
    • Review all designated written reports as needed.
    • Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback as required.
    • Coordinate with HR and implement disciplinary procedures as necessary.
  • Participate as part of an interdisciplinary team including but not limited to: Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, Substance Abuse Counselors, Occupational Therapists, Recreation Therapists, teachers, etc to deliver a holistic service array to meet the needs of assigned clients.
  • Train staff, parents and other stakeholders on client programming and behavioral principles.
    • Maintain positive working relationships with clients’ families.
    • Respond to parent/guardian questions in a timely manner.
    • Provide a bridge between agency administration and program staff through awareness and communication of agency planning, policies, and procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with the Human Resources department in staff hiring, participating in interviews, as needed.
  • Represent Wedgwood professionally and ethically in all interactions as an employee. Maintain privacy and confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations and Wedgwood Christian Services policies.
  • Responsible for timely Quality Assurance compliance as related to employee’s roles and functions.
  • Participate in agency budgeting, planning and policy development as needed.
  • Utilize educational opportunities and resources offered by the agency and through the profession for continued development of skills and clinical expertise.
  • Use the knowledge and skills of their supervisor to increase understanding of treatment programming and leadership skills to further professional development.
  • Participate in required trainings.
  • Maintain current BCBA certification.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master’s degree from an accredited program
  2. Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  3. At least one year of experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders.
  4. Evidence of being able to communicate expressively and receptively.
  5. Subscription to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Youth and Family Services and agreement with the goal, purpose, and objectives of the agency.

HOURS OF WORK: Full-Time, 40 hours/week
