PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Perform various accounting tasks to insure accurate and timely completion of work within sections, such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, or general accounting.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. Make practical applications found in accounting standards and procedures for routine transactions.
2. Assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of one or more sections, such as payroll, accounts receivable/project billing, accounts payable, general accounting, or a subordinate section.
3. Reconciliations of bank accounts and other general ledger accounts, payment of vendor and subcontractor invoices, client invoice preparation, equipment rental accounting, etc.
4. Resolve discrepancies on invoices or reports by interfacing with other departments, vendors (contractors), subsidiary companies and clients.
5. Assist in the maintenance of corporate accounting systems.
6. Make recommendations to supervisor for cost effective methods of accomplishing specific functions.
7. Prepare special reports such as financial documents for corporate management, annual financial statement audit, income, payroll and property tax returns, banks, bonding companies, bid proposals, and pre-qualification applications and complete other projects as directed by CFO and Controller.
8. Perform additional assignments as directed by the CFO and Controller.
