Webster University is Hiring a Representative - Registrar's Office Near St. Louis, MO

Description
Incumbent represents the Registrar's Office by performing specialized functions, primarily in the areas of student loan deferments, updating National Student Clearinghouse information, and processing transcript requests. Assists staff, students, faculty, and the public by responding to inquiries, requests for information and complaints. Serves as department expert requiring more experience and a broader interpretation of department policies and procedures. Applies department and university policies to solve problems involving other university units. May provide guidance to other clerical support personnel. Reports to Assistant Registrar.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
Processes requests for transcripts for all current and past students, downloading and managing requests received through the National Student Clearinghouse, and those received via mail and fax. Uploading transcripts to the NSC. Processes checks for deposit to Bursar's Office.
Process student loan deferments.
Update National Student Clearinghouse information for degree verifications.
Processes requests for letters of good standing, degree, and enrollment verifications.
Updates FERPA releases.
Manages general e-mail inbox for the Registrar's Office.
Manages phone line for the office and Cisco Phone Message/Phone Tree.
Manages documents in the imaging system.
Creates documentation for basic processes like creating courses, crosslisting courses, etc.
Gives information in person, by phone, email and fax to students, alumni, staff, faculty and the public, applying knowledge of university programs, policies, and procedures.
Handles a wide range of situations and conflicts involving the clerical and administrative operations of the department which at times cannot be brought to the attention of the department official.
In supervisor's absence, may be required to make discretionary decisions.
Files department correspondence.
Operates and maintains various office equipment.
Maintains confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the Registrar's Office.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of telephone etiquette.
Knowledge of current office practice and procedures.
Accurate typing/word processing skills.
Accurate data entry skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Computer literate; knowledge/experience in the use of current administrative software.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to take accurate messages.
High level of organization.
Ability to exercise human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations within the university community.
