Webster University is Hiring a Coordinator 3, Academic Advising Center Near St. Louis, MO

Description
The Academic Advising Center is seeking a Coordinator to join the front office team. The Coordinator is a first point of contact for students and other constituents that contact the Academic Advising Center. A successful coordinator will provide excellent customer service, a working knowledge of university programs and offices, understanding of university policy and procedures, and ability to provide assistance and appropriate referrals to students, parents, and guests. The coordinator will also be engaged with work related to student files, use of Starfish (the Student Success Portal), and other processes to support the work of the Advising Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
First line of inquiry for the Advising Center, providing excellent customer service to incoming callers and walk-ins which include both new and current students, faculty, staff and general public.
Uses knowledge of university policy and procedure to effectively triage student calls to determine if able to help or who/where to send for assistance.
Assists students with completion of all levels of registration - new, drop, add or withdrawal.
Uses knowledge of university policy and procedure to explain business office policy regarding refund of any course fees and tuition refund process for both graduates and undergraduates.
Explains services provided by Office of Academic Advising to students, faculty, staff and general public.
Reviews class lists for compliance with stated pre-requisites based on university policy and procedure; informs advisor of any student not meeting necessary pre-requisites.
Processes department paperwork for any Program Option Request or Transfer of Credit submitted; adds substitution to degree audit as needed in CARS/CX.
Manages the department email account; answers email or forwards email to a more specialized advisor.
Manages calendar for 20 advisors making appointments for new and current students.
Available to aid in calling campaigns as needed.
Assist with tuition coding for all military and first responders.
Create and maintain files for all students using Slate.

Minimum Qualifications
Education : Two years of college coursework and/or equivalent experience.
2-3 years administrative experience
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of administrative software systems such as Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, is preferred. CRM, Slate and Starfish software experience is a plus.
Ability to perform detailed and multi-functional work with accuracy; as well as the ability to exercise critical thinking skills.
Knowledge of English, grammar, punctuation, and correspondence forms specifically related to the academic environment.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
Days 8:30am-4:30pm with occasional evening and weekend hours.
