BASIC OVERVIEW

Maintenance Forklift Technician will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all assets used in the operation of the warehouse.

Focus could be on Material Handling Equipment (MHE) or Operational & Building Maintenance (OBM).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work in a safe and professional manner at all times, keeping the safety of oneself and others as their highest priority
• Perform Lock Out / Tag Out on all assets
• Perform equipment specific Lock Out / Tag Out procedures
• Perform PM’s and repairs on forklifts / PITS (Crown TSP, SP, SC, RM, RC, PR & M), batteries, chargers, capacity yard truck, sweeper and scrubber.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on :

Conveyor System & Packaging Equipment

HVAC & Lighting systems

Cubiscans / Scales

Fire & Security Systems

Racking Repairs

General Power

Dock assets

General building

• Mentor technicians by motivating, providing guidance and direction to help them achieve their goals
• Display desire to learn new skills that will benefit the Team and Company as a whole
• Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, electronics, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
• Analyze and solve technical and mechanical issues as they arise.
• Safely operate all warehouse equipment, while abiding by all forklift safety training, to ensure a safe work environment
• Effectively communicate, with Manager and Team members, through phone, text, and email
• Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System to document labor, assets, and inventory
• Report any accidents, incidents, or Safety concerns to a supervisor immediately
• Keep work zone clean and orderly and help maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing or distribution environment
• Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Previous experience in the Electrical, Mechanical, Welding, Hydraulic or HVAC fields preferred
• Electrical troubleshooting skills are beneficial
• Experience with Crown lift equipment is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Work is performed while standing and / or walking, up to and including hours / day
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing
• Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
• Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
• Requires the ability to regularly lift / carry -lbs. and push / pull up to lbs.
• Ability to work at elevations of up to feet

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

May require occasional travel to other facilities within the region
