Job Summary/Basic Function
The Office of Community Research and Evaluation located within the Center for Community Engaged Learning is hiring student Research Assistants. General job responsibilities are:
  • Prepare research summaries (primarily in the subjects of housing, safety, health, and education) from research articles and web searches,
  • Prepare tables and presentation material,
  • Assist with focus groups and interviews,
  • Perform simple qualitative and quantitative analysis and code data on SPSS,
  • Assist staff with design, execution, and evaluation of research projects,
  • Assist in developing online and paper surveys
  • Assist in preparing reports for stakeholders
Additional job-related duties may be assigned. This position prefers current WSU students, either undergraduate or graduate. Work-study preferred but not required. Please check with the financial aid department for eligibility. Hours are flexible, up to 20 hours a week.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong computer skills especially with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Qualitative (interviews, focus groups, research) OR quantitative (statistics) data analysis experience
  • Have and maintain a 2.0 GPA
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum B in Research Methods or Similar Class
  • Experience in conducting research
  • Ability to interface well with community organizations/public

This position is 50/50 eligible, student must be enrolled full-time and have at least a 2.0 GPA in order to qualify.
