Job Summary/Basic Function
The Level 1 Lab Technician is responsible for the maintenance and technical support of the computers, printers, and other technology equipment located in the Open Student Computer Labs. The Open Student Computer Labs operate at 10 separate locations on the Ogden, Davis, and West Center campuses. The Level 1 Lab Technician will provide technical support via the Labs’ Slack channel as well as completing work orders submitted through the Labs Dashboard site. The responsibilities of the Level 1 Lab Technician include but are not limited to:
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software problems with Windows PCs, Macs, and printers
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity issues
  • Imaging computers, both Windows PCs and Macs
  • Applying regular software updates to lab computers on a weekly basis
Required Qualifications
Some customer service experience.

Basic understanding of modern computing standards including hardware, operating systems, and networking.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical support experience a plus.

Physical Requirements of this position
