Job Description :

Under the direction of the Director of Student Access, the Student Access Facilitator works within the department to oversee and facilitate :

• Title VI : American Indian Education Program Grant and programming
• Title III : English Learners (EL) Grant and programming
• Military Family Support Team
• Interpretation and Translations Services
• Translates and provides interpretation for students, parents, and staff in Spanish, as assigned.
• Community engagement and programming
• Experience implementing outreach activities and connecting families / guardians to our district and to our schools
• Assesses family and student needs for developing an action plan to remove barriers to student success
• University partnerships
• Collaborate with universities and other community partners to enhance educational access for students in Weber School District.
• General knowledge of district policies, guidelines, objectives and educational process for assigned programs and activities
• Attends meetings, workshops, conferences and in-service trainings, as assigned

Required skills :

• Bilingual / Multilingual
• Spanish, required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Current experience overseeing Federal Programs, specifically Title VI and Title III
• Strong knowledge of cultural diversity and sensitivity
• Experience working with diverse populations of students and adults in a dynamic, respectful, culturally-responsive way
• Understand ways to create access points for students and families
• Experience teaching / leading in student and adult settings
• Strong organization, communication, presentation skills
• Comfortable with technology
• Ability to work well with a team
• Ability to take on multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Drive to school sites within the district
• Perform other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications : Minimum Position Qualifications

• Hold a current Utah Educator License in either Elementary or Secondary
• Hold a Masters degree in Education or Curriculum and Instruction or equivalent
• Possess a score of advanced-mid proficiency on the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) assessment including fluency in reading, writing, and speaking.
• Hold the USBE state certification for Interpretation and Translation or currently be enrolled in the USBE course.
• Experience teaching English Language Learners, World Languages or Dual Language Immersion
• Valid driver’s license, operational vehicle and auto insurance
