Project GeologistSenior Project Geologist– IndianaThe ideal candidate for this position is an experienced consultant with 6 years of experience. The position will be expected to assist the Environmental Practice Group in support of business development activities, and other professional development activities, such as preparation of environmental briefs, attending conferences and symposiums, developing and coordinating the issuance of qualifications packages, response to requests for proposals/bids etc., and our corporate safety program. This position is organized under WCG’s Environmental Practice Group’s Granger, Indiana office (South Bend-Mishawaka Metropolitan Area).

Responsibilities
- Proficiently review, interpret, and apply local, federal and state environmental regulations, as well as detailed standards from organizations such as the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
- Assist various clients in obtaining and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (SRP, VRP, LUST RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, etc.).
- Manage and conduct Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments, with a focus on data interpretation and technical report writing.
- Coordination and oversight of groundwater, soil, gas, and other media sample collection
- Analysis and interpretation of data in support of the above projects, including comparisons to generic remediation objectives, site-specific remediation objectives, and remediation objectives devised from detailed risk assessments.
- Manage statistical evaluation of various environmental monitoring data.
- Manage preparation of soil boring logs and well installation diagrams.
- Manage preparation of groundwater contour maps and geologic cross sections.
- Preparation and management of technical reports, letters, and emails with consideration of environmental regulatory and/or client-specific requirements.
- Maintain a utilization (billability) goal of at least 80%.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Science; Master’s Degree highly preferred
- At least 6-8 years of relevant professional environmental consulting experience.
- Either actively working toward, or already licensed as professional geologist (RG/PG)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Extensive written and oral communication skills, including proposal writing and technical report writing.
- Experience with management of both private and public sector projects
- At least 2-3 years of experience directing/managing various staff resources.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with proven ability to work in a team.
