JOB TITLE: WCR Casino Resort General Manager

DEPARTMENT NAME: WCR Casino Administration

REPORTS TO: FMYNE Chief Business Officer

SALARY: DOE

POSITION STATUS: Regular Full-Time, FLSA EXEMPT

HOURS PER WEEK: 40

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Plans, directs, and oversees all operational activities, objectives, and initiatives for We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort and ensures the integrity of operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Essential functions may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.

Appraises and makes recommendations regarding operating results in terms of costs, budgets, operations, trends, and increased profit opportunities.

Communicates casino performance and objectives to FMYN Chief Business Officer (CBO).

Ensures policies and procedures are followed, and that gaming operations are in compliance with applicable tribal, state, and federal laws and ordinances, and oversees the integrity of the gaming operations.

In conjunction with the Director of Finance, ensures loan compliance is met and banking relationship is maintained.

Maintain knowledge of market conditions, competition, emerging technologies, and trends in the gaming industry to improve operations and maximize financial performance.

Oversees preparation of reports required by regulatory agencies.

Performs other related duties as required.

Prepares and presents periodic reports regarding profitability, budgetary issues, and problem resolution.

Professional and administrative work, which includes planning, directing, and overseeing operational activities for We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort.

Provide direct oversight and responsibility for ensuring that engineering safety standards and systems are strictly adhered to always provide for the safety and comfort of Gaming and Resort guests and team members.

Provide direction and oversee all capital planning and capital projects from strategic positioning to implementation.

Work involves the independent and regular exercise of discretion and judgment regarding all facets of WCR operations.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Required:

Ability to manage subordinate personnel in all their activities to ensure an overall effective and profitable operation for the property.

Ability to remain composed, and make appropriate decisions under stressful conditions, which may involve dealing with a range of responsibilities, large sums of money, and timetables.

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret financial journals, reports, and related legal documents or instructions.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to establish an action plan for the development and succession of Tribal Members into executive management.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Tribal Council, Tribal Gaming Office, Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation entities, FMYNE General Managers, subordinates, other employees, and vendors.

Ability to motivate and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships among casino departments.

Ability to work holidays, nights, and weekends as required.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Knowledge in building and developing inter-governmental relationships.

Knowledge in reporting, group presentation, and other communications skills; ability to effectively present information to CBO and Tribal Council.

Knowledge of asset and liability management as they relate to a business for profit.

Knowledge of complex laws, regulations, and guidelines governing casino gaming operations.

Knowledge of federal, state, and tribal laws, ordinances, policies, and procedures about casino operations.

Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other safety agencies.

Must be skilled in budget development.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to maintain a high level of communication throughout the casino.

Must have extensive knowledge of casino operations.

Strong management and leadership skills.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a State/Tribal License (including extensive background check and fingerprinting).

Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

Minimum Qualifications/Education:

Must meet a minimum of ten (10) years as a general manager of a mid-size casino property. Excellent analytical, budgetary, managerial, and administrative skills. Superior customer service skills and employee relations. Working knowledge of casino marketing functions including sales, promotions, advertising, and public relations. Strong supervisory/leadership skills. Must have a Current Arizona Driver’s license and meet FME insurance standards. Must be willing to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and extensive background check to obtain a state gaming class III license.

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field, MBA preferred.

INDIAN PREFERENCE:

Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are members of federally recognized Indian tribes. To be considered for Indian Preference, you must submit your Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) with your application.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
