We Care Support Services is Hiring a Residential Crisis Peer Support Specialist Near Fredericksburg, VA

Job Overview:
The Peer Support Specialist at We Care Support Services, LLCis a person who has lived experience requiring mental health and/or substance use and the following credentials:

·Have completed high school diploma; associate degree preferred.

·Must be a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) within one year of hire.

·Must self-identify as an individual who is in the process of recovery from a severe mental illness.

·A driver’s license with 3 points or less and access to an insured vehicle.

Residential Crisis Peer Support Specialist Duties and Responsibilities

·Support patients in identifying and seeking treatment for underlying mental and physical health conditions. Engage individuals in a recovery partnership and assists in identifying participant's hopes and dreams and the solutions they seek.

·Provide practical help, mentoring, advocacy, coordination of services, side-by-side individualized support, and problem-solving.

·Provide education on mental illness and addictive disorders through peer-to-peer programs for patients and their families. Teaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools.

·Coordinates with the individual's clinical team and other supports to arrange services or resources to help the individuals on their treatment team achieve their goals and self-directed recovery

·Help patients coordinate affordable housing, counseling services and groups, employment, and other critical components to sustainable recovery

· Use ongoing individual and group sessions to teach patients how to identify and combat negative self-talk and how to identify and overcome fears by providing a forum that allows group members and PRS to share their experiences

· Assist patients in building social skills in the community that will enhance job acquisition and tenure, along with helping them develop natural supports and community living.

·Models hope, personal responsibility, and self-advocacy to demonstrate how recovery goals can be respectfully met and how a belief in self is maintained along with effective coping techniques and self-help strategies

· Cultivates connectedness in the person's life (self, others, the environment, and meaning and purpose).

·Attend and actively participate in supervision meetings to discuss current caseload and therapeutic interventions.

· Attend and actively participate in all treatment team and other staff meetings.

· Attend and actively participate in all required training, including staff development training

·Complete and submit daily progress notes, Time Sheets, and all other required client documentation.

· Perform other duties as assigned

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.04 - $21.72 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Night shift
  • Overnight shift
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to Relocate:

  • Fredericksburg, VA 22407: Relocate before starting work (Required)
