Location: Hybrid in Cleveland / Columbus OH or 100% Remote in OH!

Job Description:

We Can Code IT is the leading coding bootcamp with a focus on inclusion and diversity in technology. Our highly selective, world-class code academy is in search of our newest member. We are seeking a talented, experienced, and enthusiastic Lead Instructor to instruct and mentor students in our immersive cybersecurity bootcamp. The ideal candidate will have a combination of industry experience, a strong foundation in computer science, and a passion for teaching.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engaging instruction in various cybersecurity topics, including network security, cryptography, ethical hacking, system security, and cloud security.
  • Mentor, inspire, and motivate a diverse group of students, fostering a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide actionable, individualized feedback.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and refine the curriculum based on student feedback and industry needs.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and integrate relevant updates into the instruction.
  • Participate in student recruitment and alumni engagement activities, such as workshops, seminars, and open houses as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the cybersecurity field.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security , CEH, or equivalent are highly desired.
  • Strong understanding of various cybersecurity domains, including but not limited to: data security, network security, threat modeling, incident response, and risk management.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and effectively.
  • Passion for teaching and dedication to student success.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Instruction or management experience or mentality a plus

Physical demands and abilities.

  • Regularly spend long hours sitting or standing and using office equipment and computers.
  • Regularly move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly.
  • Regularly work on repetitive tasks.
  • Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects.
  • Regularly hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm.
  • May use headphones and earbuds.
  • Regularly see details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
  • Regularly speak clearly so listeners can understand.
  • Regularly understand the speech of another person.
  • Frequently bend to file and maintain files.
  • Occasionally lift 5-20 pounds.
