ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, DIGITAL - Website Development
RALLY is seeking an Associate Director with deep web project management experience to join our digital team. The Associate Director is responsible for leading the strategic development and implementation of clients' website projects, including collaborating with RALLY's UX designers, a mix of freelance and third-party developers, and the primary account team.
The Associate Director will orchestrate website project deliverables amongst internal stakeholders while managing timelines and approvals with clients. Primary responsibilities include conducting comprehensive website audits, proposing website redesign strategies to clients, managing website development teams, reporting on progress to clients, implementing SEO strategies, training junior staff on web development process and fundamentals, staying up-to-date on website best practices, and administrative tasks as necessary (including interacting with Finance to ensure accurate project tracking and billing).
No two days at RALLY are the same, but your day might start by prepping for an upcoming client presentation before developing creative concepts for a new digital campaign. Another day may include reporting website performance analytics for a recently launched website, grabbing coffee with a colleague, and working out the web components for a new business proposal in a short turnaround time. A different account may need you to help develop a strategy to improve a website's organic ranking, implement a brand refresh on an outdated website, or provide feedback on which marketing channels yield the most engaged website visitors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead RALLY's website development practice, including managing the development of sites for a mix of clients, evolving RALLY's overall website development practice (i.e. finding new development partners, revising our product offering, etc.), rolling out new best practices to the staff, and supporting account teams with web related opportunities/challenges.
  • Communicate regularly with clients on status, timeline, budget, deliverables, campaign performance, and competitive intelligence analysis.
  • Coordinate project responsibilities and expectations with outside web development resources.
  • Manage website analytics for select clients; which includes, monitoring website performance, creating client-facing reporting, implementing tracking tags and pixels, and presenting recommendations for next steps.
  • Design landing pages to yield the highest possible email sign-up rate, or donor conversion rates.
  • Drive QA and checklisting processes to ensure the quality of new website components.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks that may impact project timelines or budget.
  • Coordinate with other digital colleagues to build the supporter, voter, or customer's journey, ensuring website content and features complement other digital marketing channels.
  • Collaborate closely with designers to ensure the user experience aligns with industry best practices and meets client expectations.
  • Train team members and stakeholders on website workflows and processes.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between technical and non-technical team members.
  • Create compelling new business proposals, in collaboration with the firm's senior leaders, to attract prospective clients for website projects and/or engage existing clients in website development projects.
  • Monitor digital and cultural trends, current events, and mobilization opportunities across accounts.
  • Continuously refine and optimize existing products based on market trends, client feedback, and business objectives.
  • Assess and enhance the company's website product offerings by developing comprehensive plans for pricing, staffing models, and project timelines.
  • Attend regular staff, team, and client meetings, and provide input and feedback on business improvement, including the craft of client service, staff development, and office procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least six years of project management experience in the website development space, with a preference for experience at a consultancy, firm, or agency
  • Comfort with managing a diversity of website project expectations and deadlines across multiple clients
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to thrive in a fast-moving and collaborative agency environment
  • Strong understanding of digital concepts and tactics, including project managing for web development, website front-end best practices, and website content best practices
  • Experience monitoring and analyzing digital metrics related to website traffic
  • Experience managing content in CMS platforms, including WordPress
  • Experience with website security best practices; ideally including familiarity with Wordfence, Sucuri, and/or similar platforms.
  • Experience managing CRM integrations (ideally experience with, Action Network, MailChimp, NGP Van, or Salesforce)
  • Experience working directly with HTML and CSS
  • Strong general computer skills, including experience with Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to demonstrate resourcefulness, optimism, and flexibility in approach to project assignments
  • Intellectual curiosity, high emotional intelligence, and a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Team player with the ability to step into leadership roles
  • Experience in the issue advocacy space and using digital communications to advance progressive issues is encouraged but not required

This position offers a salary range of $110,000 to $150,000, with potential for growth and advancement based on performance and contributions to our team's success.
