Summary: We are looking for cheerful, self-motivated candidates eager to join our team as Golf Course Maintenance Laborers at the Wheeling Country Club. Measuring over 6,000 meticulously maintained yards, the par 70 Golf Course takes maximum advantage of its amazing views. The dynamic layout makes this a beginner-friendly course yet presents a challenging round for advanced players.

Golf Course Maintenance Laborers maintain the grounds and turf of our year-round 18-hole outdoor golf facility. This team reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and General Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Mows grass on greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and driving ranges using a variety of mowers, tractors, and specialized equipment
• Raking sand traps
• Operate tractor to till, cultivate, and grade new turf areas and mow rough and fairway areas at the designated cut, exercising care not to injure turf or shrubs.
• Pick up and remove litter and debris
• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness through self-monitory by following proper procedures
• Connect hose and sprinkler systems at designated points on the course to irrigate turf
• Participating in staff meetings and in-service training
• Assist with routine maintenance/repair of equipment to include changing oil, oil filters, replacing worn parts, and making minor mechanical adjustments
• Prepare and load equipment & tools for use and transport
• Reports on unsafe conditions to the Golf Course Superintendent or supervisor on duty
• Display friendly, positive, and professional behavior with guests, coworkers, and supervisors
• Other duties as assigned

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• Willing to work a variety of shifts. Typical shifts are 7:00 AM 3:30 PM, with an emphasis on holidays and weekends
• Experience with lawn care equipment or golf course maintenance (preferred)
