We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Telephone Triage Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide professional nursing care and guidance to assess and manage pediatric patient health concerns via telephone interactions. Our Nurses are critical in ensuring timely and appropriate care for our pediatric patients and their families, utilizing their clinical expertise and communication skills to deliver high-quality care remotely.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct telephone triage assessments for pediatric patients under the guidance of healthcare providers.
  • Prioritize and respond to incoming patient messages and test results promptly and accurately.
  • Provide reassurance, answer questions, and address concerns from pediatric patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to determine the best clinical course of action for pediatric patients.
  • Document symptoms, assessments, advice provided, and patient responses accurately and thoroughly.
  • Manage prescription refills for pediatric patients per established protocols.
  • Participate in care coordination activities to ensure continuity of care for pediatric patients.
  • Deliver patient education on pediatric health topics, including preventive care, developmental milestones, and medication management.
  • Support other healthcare team members and assist in orienting and training new staff members.
  • Seek opportunities for professional development and continuous improvement in pediatric nursing practice.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license in Minnesota.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to apply pediatric nursing theory in practice.
  • Knowledge of disease processes and normal growth and development across all age groups.
  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening, clear verbal communication, and concise documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with pediatric patients and their families.
  • Critical clinical thinking skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.
  • Flexibility to work at other clinic locations and provide coverage as required.
  • Availability for evening and weekend hours to meet the needs of patients.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) eClinicalWorks practice management software is beneficial but not required.

Schedule:

  • Monday, Thursday, and Friday - 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Wednesday - 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
  • One Saturday a month - 8:30 am to 12:00 pm in Minnetonka
