Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To provide support to the program managers in an assigned cluster while learning competencies necessary to serve as a program manager in their absence. This is a learning role where staff work in tandem with program managers, under the supervision of a Senior Program Manager, to increase their skill set and learn the essential functions of a program manager prior to applying, if desired. This position will be assigned to a cluster and a primary residential home. Support to other homes within the cluster will be requested as needed.

Schedule for this position: 40 hours, Mon-Fri 9a-5p

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with program managers to provide support and leadership to the residential homes in an assigned cluster; assist with payroll, provide supervision, coaching, and training on the implementation of individual service plans to staff, approve timecards and time off requests, assist in hiring and training of new staff
  • Participate in the care of the individuals served, support the program manager in the development of individual support plans, assist with transitions and new resident moves, and encourage participation in recreational activities
  • Assist with managing medical care to ensure quality health care for each individual - Promote a healthy lifestyle within the home, facilitate routine and follow-up medical and dental appointments, ensure that documentation is obtained and medical recommendations are followed by all staff.
  • Assist with compliance with applicable regulations and policies, medication supplies and coordinate ordering and delivery of medications, as needed.
  • Participate in the supervision of direct care staff, as needed, and including scheduling, one-to-one supervision, performance evaluations, training and provide emergency coverage of the program as needed (on-call physical coverage)
  • Assist in ensuring all staff attend required trainings and maintain certifications
  • Assist with administrative functions for the cluster meetings, including preparation, email reminders, etc.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the program site and program vehicles
  • Assist with staff meetings regularly to ensure open and clear communication, build the team, and provide training.
  • Provide leadership in the home as needed and in the absence of the Program Manager
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


REQUIREMENTS:

  • One year experience in Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services or a related field preferred. High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to be certified in Medication Administration, CPR and First Aid certification, Safety Care and maintain certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of 1 year of driving experience.
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Computer literacy and competency to include the ability to coordinate entry into a data management system, use Microsoft Office products proficiently, and records management systems
  • Local travel within our service communities in the Merrimack Valley area
  • Some weekend, evening and nighttime hours may be required

Preferred Skills/Knowledge:

  • High potential for strong supervisory, managerial, and administrative skills
  • Ability to drive a large and/or wheelchair van
