Overview of the Senior Director of Marketing and Communication Role

We are seeking a Senior Director of Marketing and Communication to join our growing team. This role will have one direct report and will report into the Chief Growth Officer. The Senior Director of Marketing and Communication should have experience in a high growth, start-up environment with a proven track record of building and implementing marketing strategies, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities of the Senior Director of Marketing and Communication

  • Leverages understanding of healthcare and the population we serve to develop internal and external marketing plans, communications, content (provider documents, patient/member communications, brochures, press releases, byline articles, blogs, presentations, etc.).
  • Collaborates with the business team to uncover insights and strategies to develop and implement marketing and branding strategies for new and existing initiatives and products, internally and externally.
  • Establishes brand standards, guidelines, and marketing messaging for Wayspring internal departments, health plan clients, member communication and business development initiatives.
  • Oversees production of all creative services, including the review and production of all marketing materials.
  • Identifies short-term and long-term scheduling, budget, and resource needs, including the development and management of an annual marketing budget, profit/loss projections, expenditure spending, and other financial considerations.
  • Understands key marketing performance metrics and tracking tools to provide market research, forecasts, competitive analyses, campaign results, and consumer trends in order to translate results into actionable insights for marketing team.
  • Owns and manages the Wayspring website and social media sites (LinkedIn and Facebook)
  • Source, attend and/or participate at conventions, conferences, and tradeshows, preparing engaging displays and collateral as needed, and providing post-event reports and analysis
  • Understands and foresees internal and external risks and deploys communication strategies to ensure Wayspring’s reputation is in alignment with company values.
  • Assists in growth initiatives, including request for proposals and business development communication strategies and implementing business development marketing initiatives.

Requirements & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
  • Five plus years of experience in a lead marketing role, ideally within a value based care organization in high growth mode
  • Successful track record in creating and executing marketing and communications campaigns
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Strong copywriting skills
  • High competence in project and stakeholder management
