Position Title: Senior System Security Engineer Position Type: OnsitePosition Location: Annapolis Junction, MDClearance: Active TS/SCI w/ PolyWaypoint’s client is seeking a Senior System Security Engineer to join their team. Specializing in security compliance, your primary responsibility is to manage account operations, ensure system patching and software updates, oversee system backup and restoration procedures, manage user accounts, and maintain logging and auditing protocols. Additionally, you will assist in developing and implementing sustainment and refresh plans for hardware and software. Collaboration with internal teams, including both contractor and government personnel, is essential to achieve customer objectives. You will play a key role in ensuring systems compliance with Secure the Enterprise (STE)/ Secure the Network (STN) requirements and documenting standard operating procedures to maintain system compliance.Responsibilities:
- Manage account operations, including user account management and access control.
- Ensure timely operating system patching and application software updates and installations.
- Oversee system backup and restoration processes to maintain data integrity.
- Assist in developing and executing sustainment and refresh plans for hardware and software components.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align efforts and achieve customer objectives.
- Ensure systems compliance with Secure the Enterprise (STE)/Secure the Network (STN) requirements.
- Document standard operating procedures for maintaining system compliance.
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or Associate's degree with 10 years of relevant experience, or high school diploma/GED with 12 years of relevant experience.
- Degree in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in computer or information systems design/development, programming, information/cyber/network security, vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, computer forensics, information assurance, and/or systems engineering, with specific experience in network or system administration.
- Proficiency with operating systems including CentOS, Windows 10, RedHat, and MAC Big Sur.
- Understanding of the customer Risk Management Framework and knowledge of customer STE/STN compliance processes.
- Experience managing multiple System Security Plans (SSPs) with a solid understanding.
- Familiarity with Latteart and Biscotti tools.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Familiarity with cloud computing environments such as AWS
