Position Type: Onsite/ HybridPosition Location: Bailey's Crossroads, VAClearance: Active TS/SCIWaypoint’s client is seeking skilled Data Analytic Engineers with experience in Apache or Confluent Kafka to join their team. You will be responsible for assisting in the design, build, deployment, and use of large-scale, highly performant data environments for both the US Government and Commercial Companies. This position requires a developer background and involves a combination of work in both the SCIF supporting the high side and Remote work supporting the low side environment. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced culture, enjoy working with a team of industry experts, and are eager to expand their technical depth in the latest technologies.Responsibilities:

Own the end-to-end execution and delivery of technical solutions and services associated with Kafka.
Architect, design, develop, and operationalize high-performance, scalable, reliable, and resilient services using Kafka.
Troubleshoot technical issues within a complex technical stack including microservices, containers, and virtualization.
Assist with the architecture, design, and deployment of Kafka-based systems and solutions.
Monitor and maintain stack and infrastructure performance for both on-premises deployments and cloud environments.
Facilitate the integration of data sources and applications.
Design software as it relates to Kafka deployments, distributed computing, and system architecture.
Develop automation and orchestration to deploy and maintain Kafka-based solutions in a repeatable and scalable fashion.
Collaborate effectively with clients and gather, prioritize, plan, and execute solutions to customer business requirements related to Kafka technologies.
Work in a highly distributed team environment and comfortable with remote work.
Architect and design Kafka-based systems, including infrastructure and sizing considerations.
Implement security setup for Kafka environments, including access control and encryption.
Develop disaster recovery strategies and ensure high availability of Kafka systems.
Define and implement data strategy for Kafka-based data environments.
Serve as the Kafka technical lead, providing expertise and guidance to the team.

Requirements:

Proven track record of delivering large-scale, highly available, low-latency systems.
Hands-on technical expertise in large-scale systems engineering, distributed systems, or cloud technologies.
Experience handling critical systems and troubleshooting technical issues.
Ability to work directly with clients and execute solutions to customer business requirements using Kafka technologies.
Hands-on experience automating Kafka features and working with large distributed systems.
Proficiency in Linux command line and scripting using JavaScript, Golang, Painless, Python, or Bash.
Active TS/SCI clearance.

Desired:

Experience with ETL and data indexing concepts.
Experience with Public Cloud Providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with Containerization solutions such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Docker.
Experience with Visualization tools such as Kibana, Grafana, or Jupyter.
DevOps experience is beneficial, with a focus on items like PBAC, RBAC, cluster linking, docker-compose to Confluent for Kubernetes, KStreams, etc.
