Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Research Assistant- POSTGRADUATE WAYNE LAW STUDENT AFFAIRS FELLOW at its Detroit campus location.

Wayne StateUniversity Law School’s Office of Student Affairs ("Wayne Law") isseeking applications from Class of 2023 graduates of an ABA-accredited lawschool for a one-year Post-Graduate Fellowship.
The fellowship offers anopportunity for a recent law school graduate to gain experience working with WayneLaw’s Student Affairs Office. The fellow’s responsibilities will include, butare not necessarily limited to the following:
-Diversity, Equity, and Belonging Program Support
-Student Engagement
-Organization Outreach
-Special Event & Activities Assistance
-Other student related special projects as assigned
The fellow will work closely with theStudent Affairs Office staff and will report directly to the Assistant Dean ofStudent Affairs. The fellow will support the mission of the Student AffairsOffice to help students successfully navigate the law school years. Thefellow’s role will include the responsibilities listed above, as well as assistingwith departmental programs and initiatives to promote academic achievement,wellness, and professionalism among law students. The role also involves additionalresponsibilities as assigned that are viewed to be in line with the position.
J.D. from an ABA-accredited lawschool required. Bar passage notrequired. Priority will be given to Class of 2023 law school graduates who havean interest in higher education. Candidates must be able to exerciseindependent judgment; responsibly manage multiple projects; communicateeffectively orally and in writing; and complete assignments with minimalsupervision.
Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue untilMarch 1. The candidate will start on or aboutMarch 7, 2024; the fellowship will last at least one calendar year from thecandidate’s start date. Applicants areasked to submit (1)a letter of interest describing the candidate’s reasons for applying for the fellowship (notto exceed two pages) (2) a resume, (3) a writingsample, (4) a law school transcript, and (5) the names and contact information ofthree individuals prepared to provide professional references. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.

Depending on the placement the fellowship may be fully remote, hybrid, or fully in-person. The fellowship is a 35 hour a week position.
