Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Research Assistant - Ophthalmology Visual Anatomical Sci at its Detroit campus location.

Performlaboratory based scientific techniques or clinical/population science (humansubjects) research. Design and perform experiments, recruit participants forstudies by developing surveys and interviewing candidates. Participate inimplementing research objectives, ensuring compliance with all legal,regulatory and protocol guidelines.
Assist staff with experiments/research protocols as required. Communicate withprincipal investigator and Postdoctoral scholars/fellows on the status ofresearch.
Collectand log laboratory results, clinical outcomes and/or survey data. Evaluate andperform data analysis using graphs, charts or tables to highlight the keypoints of the research results collected in accordance with the researchprotocols as stipulated.
Proofread and edit research data and documents toensure accuracy.
Assistprincipal investigator with writing methods and summarizing/organizing data tobe used in preparing and presenting presentations for professional, scientificand academic conferences and submittal to academic and scholarly peer-reviewedjournals.
Maintainthe laboratory work areas including routine maintenance on laboratory equipmentas required. Order and organize required research supplies and records.Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation.
Performother related duties as assigned.
Caring of diabetic animals and knockout miceConduct a variety of molecular and cellular assays related to two research projects: corneal epithelial wound healing and innate immunity.
Bachelor’sdegree in a related field of study, preferred.
Requires advanced knowledgepredominantly intellectual in character in a field of science or learningacquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction.
ExperienceEntry level (less than a year of job-related experience).
Experienceperforming basic research techniques or interacting with human subjects,preferred.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities
Abilityto work independently.
Ability to analyze, summarize and interpret researchfindings and data in reports and spreadsheets and communicate results.Knowledge of scientific integrity principles.
Excellent time management andorganization skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills anddemonstrated ability to work with others in a collaborative environment.
Microsoft office software skills.
MS degree with a strong background in Biomedical Sciences is preferred.
