Job Title: Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Responsible To: Practice Administrator

Definition:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and collaborative abilities. Position requirements include NP certification with Masters Degree and Ohio license. We are willing to orient new graduates. Wayne HealthCare offers a competitive compensation and benefit package.

Education:

  • License to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Ohio
  • Masters Degree in Nursing
  • National certification as Family/Adult/or Geriatric NP
  • 1 year full time experience as NP preferred but not required

Qualifications:

  • Excellent computer/phone skills
  • Ability to speak and communicate clearly, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism
  • Ability to interact patiently and respectfully with geriatric population
  • Excellent eye to detail and organization skills; self-starter; ability to prioritize work demands and manage time appropriately

Responsibilities:

  • Professional attire (lab coat optional) with photo id badge visible
  • Following recommended CDC vaccination guidelines for health care workers
  • Provide quality, professional care to patients independently and in collaboration with physicians
  • Establish diagnosis for common or acute short-term, or chronic stable health problems
  • Order, perform and interpret laboratory tests; outside order of tests, i.e., x-rays, EKGs
  • Prescribe medications within the class of drugs permitted by the State Nurse Practice Act
  • Provide telephone consultation and triage
  • Maintain records which accurately reflect management of care
  • Provide input into the development and continuing refinement of provider guidelines and office policies and procedures
  • Provide patient and staff with education on an ongoing basis
  • Establish effective relationships with patients and other patient care providers/staff members to ensure the provision of quality care
  • Perform health histories and physical exams
  • Examine patients; order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests; document physical findings; formulate treatment plans including referrals to other health care professionals when a patient's situation warrants more advanced diagnosis and treatment
  • The provider's scope of practice is guided by the NP practice agreement
  • Prescribe and manage medications for acute and chronic stable conditions
  • Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals as needed
  • Promote positive health behaviors and self-care skills through education and counseling
  • All other duties as assigned
