STEM Adventures Teacher
Job Description Stipend: $1,000OverviewSTEM Adventures is a 5-day summer camp held at Meadow Lane Elementary that will occur July 15-19, 2024 for 240 rising 3rd through 6th grade Wayne County Public School students. Students will be immersed in hands-on activities, participate in a field trip and attend a Family & Community STEM showcase. Staff are responsible for working Monday-Friday from 8:00 am- 4:00 pm. Camp begins each day for students at 9:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm.
Responsibilities & RequirementsSTEM Adventures’ teachers are responsible for implementing engaging curriculum activities and lesson plans that foster hands-on learning experiences and promote a deep understanding of STEM concepts for a class of 24 students. Teachers will also lead students in the engineering model to promote problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Teachers will create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging curiosity and exploration. Teachers will assist the Lead Teacher in preparing materials and setting up classrooms prior to the start of camp as well as communicate with families as needed.

- Current WCPS Staff
- Bachelor’s degree & teacher licensure
- Interest in STEM field or related area
- Experience teaching STEM activities or other related experiences (preferred)
