Overview CTE Career Camp is a 4-day summer camp to be held at Southern Wayne High that will occur July 22-25, 2024 for grades 6th thru 8th grade for Wayne County Public School students. Students will be immersed in a different career program areas daily over a four day span. Each day students will participate in hands-on activities and come out each day with a "take-away." Staff are responsible for working Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm. Camp begins each day for students at 8:30 am and ends at 12:30 pm.
Responsibilities & Requirements CTE Career Camp teachers--along with a core academic teacher, will be responsible for implementing an engaging curriculum activities and lesson plans that foster hands-on learning experiences. The lesson must integrate a core academic concept leading to s real world career activity(s). Teachers will also lead students in the career activity, which will help streghen the school to work concepts of how learning in school connects to real world work experience. Teachers will create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging curiosity and exploration. Core teachers will assist the CTE Lead Teacher in preparing the lesson and materials and setting up classrooms prior to the start of camp as well as communicate with families as needed.
Must: Prepare detailed lesson plan, incorporating math, science, ELA--along with a real world of work concept(s). Prepare purchased orders, within a given budget, for supplies and equipment to execute the lesson plan.

Current WCPS Teacher
Interest and excitement in the area of working with children
