Purpose/Description
The IT Business Advocate Analyst will develop, maintain, or implement business continuity including risk assessments, business impact analyses, strategy selection, and documentation of business processes; work with Business Segments within the County on proposed projects; and facilitate requirement gathering and business requirement documentation to assist IT teams. Provide technical advice on application procurement and vendor selection. Schedule and attend meetings and provide follow up and recap notes. Work on special projects as assigned by Team Lead. Utilize Ivanti Service Management System and Jira project tracking.
Education and Experience
Educational Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in a business-related curriculum or equivalent experience or
· Associate degree with 5 plus years of IT work experience.
Experience Requirements
· IT/IS experience required with business analysis and project management experience.
· Experience with business analysis and business requirements
· PMP Certification and ITIL certification preferred. Understanding of the PMI methodology, preferred.
· Must have comprehensive IT/IS Project Management experience using agile methodology.
· High energy and ability to deal with complex stressful environments.
· A proactive approach and desire to remove project roadblocks resolve issues and mitigate risks.
· Strong business acumen (specifically assessing business readiness and mitigation plans).
· Strong communication and presentation skills in a professional manner
· Ability to manage multiple mid-sized projects simultaneously to a successful completion of work/project efforts as required or defined.
· Demonstrated experience in building win-win relationships with Businesses stakeholders and Vendors.
· Strong ability to manage a portfolio of work and/or projects for their respective Business Segment(s) assigned and follows up with their Service Requests.
· Must have the discipline and rigor to optimally use the project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Jira, Ivanti) to ensure continuity to the business as well as IT Operations. Applies Project Management principles and applicable client methodologies and standards to ensure successful project completion within the constraints of Scope, Schedule/Time, Budget/Cost, and quality.
· Adhere and comply with policies and procedures.
· Perform other duties as assigned by management.
· Adhere and comply with Wayne County policies per code of conduct guidelines.
Major Duties, Tasks & Knowledge
Required Tasks
· Support critical activities as required and reports back to management.
· Accepts and updates work assignments as designated by team lead.
· Assist other IT service areas such as server, network, telecommunication, and application groups.
· Acquire and develop knowledge on all supported technologies.
· Outreach and follow up with designated departments and contacts.
