JOIN OUR TEAM
Hearing and Vision Technicians provide preschool and school-age hearing and vision screening in Michigan according to the Public Health Code; Act 368 of 1978; Part 93. Hearing and Vision Technicians are employed by local health departments (LHDs) and comprehensively trained by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) to provide screenings in the LHD service area.
Under limited supervision, performs preliminary and re-test hearing and vision screening at various schools throughout Out-Wayne County to detect hearing or vision abnormalities in children. Interprets and records test results and performs any necessary follow-up by letter, phone, or conference. Travels to various schools throughout Out-Wayne County. Utilizes current county-wide and department-specific software to complete assignments.
Job Summary:
The Hearing and Vision Technician provides screenings to youth in schools, daycare and Head Start programs.
