Summary of Duties:
Prepare entry-level physical therapist assistants to enter the workforce by teaching them the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide safe, effective, and efficient patient care. Teach according to the learning objectives and goals for each course, using a variety of instructional methods, such as lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities. Create an effective, supportive, learner-centered environment that promotes student learning and development. Collaborate with other faculty members in the development and continued assessment of learning outcomes for use in program reviews and curriculum revision. Participate in appropriate professional development activities to stay up-to-date on the latest physical therapy research and best practices. Participate in department/discipline, division, campus, and college meetings and committees to contribute to the overall success of the program. Maintain time outside of class for student assistance, such as answering questions and providing feedback on assignments. Support the college's goals by promoting student success and ensuring that the program meets accreditation standards. Participate in college retention programs to help students stay on track to graduate.
