Please note the hourly rate is based on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Wayne County Public Schools and Wayne Community College and is non-negotiable.
Minimum Requirements :
A Bachelor’s degree in the field of Education or a Core Curriculum area from a regionally accredited institution is required.
A Counseling Degree or Certification is preferred. Experience working with community college and / or high school curricula is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, excellent oral and written communication skills, being a self-starter and team player, and the ability to work collaboratively with others to assist students, parents, faculty, staff, and the general public is required.
Experience working in the area of student advising is preferred. A National Career Readiness Certificate and bilingual in English and Spanish are preferred.
Position Duties :
The Wayne Community College and Wayne Early Middle College High School (WCC / WEMCHS) Liaison serves under the direction of the Cooperative High Programs Coordinator and the WEMCHS Principal.
The liaison meets the program’s needs of the early college high school by coordinating the use of college facilities and working with both WCC and WEMCHS staff and faculty, concerning early college operations.
The liaison collects and compiles high school data and participates in local and state-wide conferences. The liaison works closely with both the high school and WCC administrative team as well as with WCC’s Student Services in order to share information and resolve issues.
The liaison will work directly with the high school student body and will serve as the academic advisor for WEMCHS to assist students regarding degree plans, class selection, registration, and graduation.
The liaison will stay abreast of regulations instituted by the NC Community College System in conjunction with the Department of Public Instruction regarding dual-enrollment policies and procedures.
The liaison performs other duties as assigned by the Cooperative High School Programs Coordinator and the Wayne Early Middle College High School Principal.
If selected for employment, the applicant must submit to a criminal background check and drug screening.
