Job Description
Wayman Fire Protection is looking for a dedicated Project Manager to join our Electronic Systems Construction Division. We have an immediate need and are looking for the right fit to join our team. This person is a motivated self-starter, who is detail focused, well organized and who works well in a fast-paced environment. Our Project Manager will be responsible for leading various projects in our alarm construction division. They will act as the primary point of contact to work in conjunction with our existing customer base on direct end user contracted work as well as our electrical contractor base. Our goals for this position will be to maintain control of the installation schedules, cost structure of the work, quality of the work performed, and most importantly the satisfaction of our customer base. This position will report directly to the Department Field and Operations Supervisors but also communicate with the department coordinator, our field technical staff, and other aspects of our organization.
Our expectations of this position include the following but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the work assigned.
  • Responsible for all communication regarding the project status with both the customer base as well as the internal communications with the department team to include all phases of the construction work including design status, permit approval, material delivery, schedule status, and field installation requirements.
  • Develop plans to meet the required schedules to our estimated budgets and work in progress meetings.
  • Understands all current code requirements, industry standards, published specifications, and authority having jurisdiction requirements.
  • Displays a level of professionalism with our external customers and internal staff to ensure a successful delivery of our product and the services we provide.
  • Coordinates subcontractor usage on pre-assigned projects to ensure the level of work being provided meets the high expectations of our organization.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the change order process to ensure all costs are captured when necessary to work performed above and beyond the original scope of work.
  • Completes any additional assignments above and beyond their normal work duties.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience in the construction industry with preference to the electronic systems industry
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and listening skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a group environment as well as independently to achieve the goals set forth by the organization
  • NICET Level II preferred
  • Organized, self-motivated, and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel within our geographic area for 75% of the time as needed
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints of the business needs
  • Excellent skills using basic Microsoft functions to include but no limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, etc
