SPANISH IMMERSION INTERVENTIONIST (.30 FTE) 

WPS is a high-achieving west-suburban district of 2,800 students, with one preschool, three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Our diverse student body hails from Wayland and Boston and is composed of 32% students of color and 68% white students, with 15% of our students having a first language other than English. Loker Elementary School is looking for a part-time Interventionist for its Spanish Immersion Program:

Job responsibilities include:
1.Leads targeted literacy and mathematics intervention in Spanish;
2.Provides both classroom push-in and pull-out support to students in the Spanish Immersion Program;
3.Modifies and adapts the curriculum, materials, and physical environment to meet the needs of individual students;
4.Collaborates closely with classroom teachers and special education teachers to effectively deliver appropriate intervention to students;
5.Participates in team meetings related to supporting the learning needs of specific students in the Spanish Immersion Program;
6.Assumes such other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.

Minimum Qualifications:
1.Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred;
2.Graduate training and/or degree in elementary education or a related area;
3.Appropriate Massachusetts teacher licensure;
4.Experience at the elementary level;
5.Bilingual in English and Spanish;
6.Satisfactory, supervised experience within the last five years as a teacher, student teacher, intern, or apprentice in this discipline;
7.Experience with diverse populations and commitment to Wayland’s goals of diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism;
8.Possess those personal and professional characteristics necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
