Wayland Academy is Hiring a Teaching assistant Near Beaver, WI

Salary : Support Staff Pay Scale D : £15,553 - £15,813 pro-rata per annum (£23,500 - £23,893 per annum full time / full year equivalent)

Part Time : 28 hours per week

Working Weeks : Term Time plus 1 week (39 weeks)

Start Date : September 2024

We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our committed and hardworking team at Wayland Academy, supporting our students to achieve their full potential.

You will be an enthusiastic and inspiring practitioner with recent experience of working in a secondary education setting and in one-to-one situations.

You will be passionate about raising achievement through motivating and inspiring students, and keen to contribute to the school’s visions and values.

You will be motivated to enable access to learning for all pupils.

This will support your application ensuring you have the opportunity to tell us about your relevant skills, experience and qualifications that relate to the job description and person specification in addition to details of your references covering the last 5 years.

The main responsibility of the role will be :

  • To work under the instruction / guidance of teaching / senior staff
  • To undertake structured and agreed learning programmes and activities to support individuals or groups of pupils, including more specialist support for those with special educational needs
  • To assist with supervision of pupils outside of lesson times

The ideal candidate will have :

  • Good numeracy / literacy skills
  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults
  • Ability to use ICT effectively to support learning
