Compensation:

  • In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.


Role Summary :

The primary purpose of this position is to provide support as an assessment writer conducting resource family assessments for relative and non-relative families, writing reports approving or denying the family, and developing, coordinating, and ensuring any needed referrals to community resources are completed and provided. The incumbent is either an RFA case manager or an assessment writer who excels in the role, illustrates the skills and abilities of a leader, and can lead and manage special projects in the RFA program. Additional duties include evaluating the home environment to ensure safety and CCL regulations are met, conducting all background checks for all adults residing in the home, and may provide case management support with oversight of youth placed in relative or unrelated resource homes. Acting in a case manager capacity requires oversight over home safety, conducting home visits, and providing services such as resources in conjunction with ongoing assessment of the strengths and needs of the youth and family. The incumbent will maintain communication with the placing agency, service providers, and others involved in the child’s treatment team and attend CFT’s, and other meetings as needed.

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited or state-approved graduate school in social work or social welfare, marriage, family and child counseling, child psychology, child development, counseling psychology, or social psychology.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the role of Social Worker within the agency and be in good standing.
  • Two years of supervisory experience is highly preferred.
  • Expertise in the laws, rules, and regulations governing the operations of public social services agencies, Foster Family Agency homes (FFA), Resource Family Approval (RFA) and adoptions is required.
  • Expert knowledge in child welfare principles consistent with the California Continuum of Care Reform is required.
