Compensation:

  • In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.


Role Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide on-site safety and crisis management support to the staff and youth in our residential programs, which impact the health, safety and treatment of campus residents. The Program Support Specialist reports to the Lead Program Support Specialist

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the compliance of campus programs by implementing policies and procedures for crisis intervention, ensuring Title 22 compliance, ensuring all documentation is completed and accurate (reports, investigations, special incident reports, internal incident reports, etc.).
  • Ensures the health and safety of all residents, staff and visitors is maintained.
  • Assists with supervision of residents as needed.
  • Ensures that department personnel, residents, visitors, etc., follow established policies and procedures, to include safety rules and regulations, at all times.
  • Utilizes Collaborative Problem Solving in de-escalating and providing behavior support to residents.
  • Conducts behavior screenings for new intakes and collaborates with milieu and clinical staff in implementing behavior interventions that meet the residents’ needs.
  • Conducts Professional Assault Crisis Trainings (Pro-ACT) and refresher trainings.
  • Leads Milieu Counselors in implementing Pro-ACT and Collaborative Problem Solving techniques with residents
  • Conducts campus perimeter checks or safety.
  • Enters Incident Reports into I-track, as necessary.
  • Supports residential programs with on-boarding and training new staff.
  • A minimum of an associate’s degree from an accredited university degree in psychology, social work, or related field is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain current Professional Assault Crisis Training (Pro-ACT) trainer certification,or be willing to obtain and maintain certification upon hire.
  • Minimum of two years successful experience in a youth residential setting or youth with acute need in a home or community setting.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
