Compensation:

  • In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Role Summary

This position's primary purpose is to train agency staff on and conduct Blues Program Groups for adolescents in the community and at agency locations. The position will be responsible for achieving certification as a trainer in the Blues Program and providing training to new staff on an ongoing basis. The trainer will conduct four groups per day. This is a grant-funded, limited-term position for up to 18 months.

  • Conducts outreach and engagement activities to recruit youth and families to participate in prevention services.
  • Develop and distribute informational materials regarding The Blues Program.
  • Facilitates onboarding training in The Blues model of depression and anxiety prevention for all mental health program staff.
  • Administer outcome measures to program participants, score measures, and enter data into electronic health records in a timely manner.
  • Conducts four group sessions in the community or in the office daily.
  • Refers youth to outpatient therapy or other resources as needed.
  • Attends staff meetings, in-service training, and other meetings as directed.

Qualifications


  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (social work, human services, human development, child development) from an accredited university is required.
  • A minimum of two years working with youth, preferably adolescents, in a social services or mental health setting is required.
  • A minimum of one year of facilitating training or public speaking is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with members of interdisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated awareness of basic depression and anxiety symptoms.
